My 12 Favourite Problems

I gave myself the gift of curiosity this year.

After a long time, I don’t have a five-year plan. I have 12 problems (thanks Feynman!) that I can’t stop thinking about:

Learning Design

1/ What could learning look like if a course were no longer the default?

2/ How do you build learning people want more of?

3/ How do we close the gap between knowing something and actually doing it?

Organisations and L&D

4/ What would it take for learning to become part of how an organisation operates every day?

5/ Why should L&D teams exist in organisations today?

Careers

6/ How might people navigate careers when paths are becoming less predictable?

7/ How might young people discover and shape the careers available to them?

Skills

8/ How might people better understand what they are capable of and what they need to develop next?

9/ What becomes worth learning when knowledge is abundant and work keeps changing?

10/ What helps people continue seeing themselves as learners throughout their lives?

11/ How might curiosity and imagination be developed over time?

Businesses

12/ What does an AI-native business look like?

These problems overlap. Careers are learning problems. Curiosity is also an organisational problem. AI is a thread running across many questions.

I’m actively working on some of these through Field and I have a few answers, frameworks and experiments to share.

For others, I’m still finding my way. But I’d love to think with people who are working on them too.

If one of these is showing up in your work - let’s compare notes, collaborate or figure out how to solve it together!
